I have now BMW X5 and I want to get an H3, but I go off road only 2% of the time.
How is H3 for road compare with the other SUV's? Is it a good car?
Thank you for your comments

Cristi

I think it depends on what you are looking for and what reasons. I would love to have a X5 blue

What's this a BMW/Toyota conspiracy? I thought this was a HUMMER forum?

Hi Christy. I just turned in my leased 2003 BMW X5 and leased an 06 H2. Although the H2 and the H3, that your interested in, are different animals, I have observed some differences with my experiences. The X5 is much more car like than my H2, also the build quality was higher in my X5. The whole vehicle just felt much tighter, but I'm talking about 2 vehicles that are considerably different than you are comparing. With that said, I would assume that the Bimmer has a slightly better build quality, but the H3 has a higher cool factor.

H3 - For the price its hard to beat and "being able to say I own a hummer". Lacks power and options, and sorry to say no way near the ride comfort of my Esacalade.

H2 - Way more options, power, and room. Very fun to drive

Escalade - Luxury SUV, what else need to be said

Once I got my 2007 Escalade, I didn't even want to drive my H3 at all.

2007 Escalade with 22s

2006 H3 with 20s

2005 BMW 545i with 20s

2004 H2 with 22s

2003 Mercedes Benz E320 with 20s

2002 Harley Davidson Truck with 22s

2000 Lincoln Navigator with 20s

and the list goes on

judging by your rim sizes you are not into off roading so the h3's main attraction would be useless for you. So yes I can see you liking the escalade more, however if offroading is important to you then nothing on your list can compete with the h3...not even the h2. Narrower width has alot of advantages over the wide stance of the h2. As far as power....compare HP to weight ratio...the h3 is right there with the h2. Personally I hate trucks that drive like cars, if I wanted that I would own a car.

ImportKiller,

Very true, not into offroading anymore (had a 83 Toyota 4x4 with a buick V-6, 350 trans, 571 gears on 44's). On the HP ratio to weight, I would more than agree if I had a Canyon or Colorado Truck (same drivetrain as H3). My H2 - I installed a Hypertech Programmer, K/N Airfitler, Flowmaster exhaust system, so that also helped out with the additional power.

Now days I'm more into building a nice street car/truck/suv. just trying to do my own thing.

Its always nice to see what others are doing to their vehicles.

I didn't realize the Escalade was that comfortable. Now I know why everybody around here has one.

I like your choice of wheels for your rigs. Very classy.
