Default H2 Production Stopped

A member of the site who's family member works for the corporate office at GM has said the H2 production has been officially stopped, with no plans on any future production.

Apparently they will only produce H1/Humvee's and H3's, as well as future models such as the H3T and HX.

This is no rumor. This is almost right from the horse's mouth, so to speak.

I was told they were keeping the Hummer line because they are making money off the military hummers and etc but they WILL NOT SELL the hummer line anymore. As for the H2 there is just no money in it so with every bad investment to the corporate a$$holes they must cut it off.

Sad news to be sure. I am just happy we bought our H2 when we did. (Last month) I am sure we will get many, many years of driving it. Maybe by then the H2 will make a come back. We would buy another one for sure.

After driving for 34 years all kinds of cars, trucks, and SUV's the Hummer H2 is the most comfortable, most safest, the most we have ever enjoyed driving.

Why would GM get rid of the H2 when they are shopping HUMMER to a potentialbuyer? It makes more sense to keep the line intact and sell it to an appreciative builder.

Rick Wagoner needs to go, he's been ruining GM since he took the reigns, how much lower does the stock need to go before the shareholders arrive at his office with pitchforks and torches?

THis doesnt sound like a 100% sure source, im sure the hx will never make it into production and they dont produce h1's anymore so that makes me think that something isnt 100% about this. Could just be talk. Also do you think that if gm does sell hummer whoever buys it gets rights to the h2 and h1 or only the h3? since AM assembled the h1's and h2's and the plants are not GM owned.

The only thing I've heard along those lines is that GM is extending the NORMAL summer
shutdown at several of their truck and SUV plants in reaction to the slow/no sales.

GM has nothing to do with h1 or humvee production they only handled the marketing of the h1 when they leased the hummer name. They did a pretty good job too by inflating the price (on basically the same truck) almost 75% in 7 years before they "csncelled" it.
