Default H2 CA version

Apparently, the original owner located my H@ from CA then had it shipped to WA (where I am). I imagine this is CA compliant truck. I'd like to make it un-CA compliant if you know what I mean .

What mods/things do I gotta do?

Thanks guys! Look forward to being a new H2 owner.

I doubt there is much difference in the Ca and federal emission stuff on most late model vehicles.

Congrats on the new rig.

i doubt there was a difference at that time but anyway, you could put a full exhaust on it, cold air intake, headers, tune it, if you have plenty of cash to spend, put a super charger or something on it. put cams in it if you like, there are plenty of mods for the 6L, as it is still in use today in trucks.

Just to be clear: Cali or Canadia?

Thanks guys! California, not Canada

I was thinking of just ordering non-CA parts for the emission system; I don't have emissions where I live in WA. Then was thinking of replacing the stock system with a Borla or similar.

Would that do it?

Other question would be is it even worth it?

I'm just learning these rigs, know nothing about them. Thanks for the info guys

is it worth it- that is in the eye of the beholder i suppose.

i have a full magnaflow on mine with ceramic headers. do i think it was worth it, when i step on the gas and listen to ir rumble, yes. i bought it with all of it on there though, would i spend the money on it, i probably would just to get as much power out of it as possible to turn the bigger tires i have.

borla makes a great exhaust as well. i would put an intake in it too for the couple hundy, might as well open both sides of it and leave it at that with even a hand held tuner. im a fan of being able to go back to stock if needed, so sending it to black bear or something is out of the question for me.

I was looking at Magnaflow. Seems like a great product and they make the catalytic converter as well.

My first mod, however, will be a K&N CAI.

I prefer an AirDoc tube mated to a Volant intake, filter, and pre-filter.

Nice. How does your system compare to the K&N? Only thing about the K&N that seems problematic is that its not a sealed system and it relies on the hood to create the seal. It's also really expensive for just plastic molded parts.

Volant seems nice, totally sealed. Then I was looking at AEM's CAI dry filter setup...ugh, what to do.

I just want the best HP and MPG gains I can get.

Honestly you aren't going to get much performance from an intake, maybe some hp with a tune.

I installed the Volant because I couldn't stand how difficult it was to get the factory lid on and off. Plus I wanted a re-usable filter. This setup with the Volant pre-filter catches everything even in dusty Arizona. I eventually added the Air Doc to get rid of the resonator and have a nice smooth flow of air to the engine. The Air Doc does have to be trimmed down on both sides to work with the Volant box because the box sits closer to the engine than the stock setup.

Volant also brings in air from the factory fender vent which I like. I have never and will never install an intake which seals to the hood.
