H1 Soft top question....
Hey,
I've had an H2 for the last few years and this past weekend picked up a 97.5 H1 Softtop and am chomping at the bit to take it off road for the first time. I thought I'd ask a few general accessory questions though. First of all, is there any sort of "treatment" that needs to be applied to the top. For instance, on my pickup truck I had a soft tonneau cover that I would apply extang's tonneau tonic to so it would reduce the fading and aging and gave it a really nice shine. Would anything like this need to be done?
2.) I want to add some off road lights to it and was thinking of adding one of front light bars that border along the outside of the windshield. I know that Predator makes one of these, does anyone have a better suggestion for a better quality or is Predator the best to go with.
3.) I also want to get a bigger snorkel, would this interfere with the light bar mentioned in question #2?
Thanks in advance for all the help!
Drew

I have never applied anything to my soft-tops, but some of them have gotten torn over time...
A lightbar will interfere somewhat with the removal of the soft-top - not a lot, but enough to make it more difficult. Personally, I wouldn't go that route if you plan to remove and reinstall the top frequently. Predator makes a decent product at a premium price. There are others out there of similar quality, shop around.
Most snorkels will not interfere with a windshield-area lightbar.

If you really want a lightbar and dont want the hassel of the lightbar and taking off the top I'd suggest buying a bikini top from Blue Hummer Outfitters. I almost bought one this year but opted to get the used slantback kit they had for sale since summer is basically over but next spring I plan on getting this bikini top.
Instead of actually having to take the top right off like you do the big bulky insulated top this one just rolls up over the windshield frame and will be less of a hassel.
Then you can save your insulated top for the colder months.
