Default H-2 luggage rack

We have a 2004 Hummer H-2 - and I need to know how to take off the luggage rack. Is it possible? Thanks in advance for any help you can give!

Yes, they do come off. The easy way to take them off is using the key that your dealer should have given you. If you don't have that key, then loosen the **** on both the left and right sides and see if the crossbar slips out.

If it doesn't slip out like that then you're gonna have to do it the hard way. That is, you are going to have to pop off the plastic clips on the back of the hold down roof rail. Just pull hard with your hand till they pop of.[:@] they shouldn't break, although they can break.[:'(] Once they come out, you can just slide the crossbars out to the back. Let me know how you did.

Good Luck!

thanks for the advice, and nice to see ya back efrain. i'm talking my buddy into selling me his gobi rack when he sells his h2, which he continues to say he's gonna do. (owns an h and h2, wife wants an h3). i want the rack, and need him to hate his h2 enough to get rid of it. other than all the faults i've had, what other horror stories can i share to make him sell it? . . .[:'(]
