Guns and Doctors
Doctors:
(a) The number of physicians in the US is 700,000
(b) Accidental deaths caused by Physicians per year are 120,000
(c) Accidental deaths per physician is 0.171
--Statistics courtesy of the US Department of Health and Human Services
Now think about this...
Guns:
(a) The number of gun owners in the US is 80,000,000
(b) The number of accidental deaths per year, all age groups, is 1,500
(c) The number of accidental deaths per gun owner is 0.000188
--Statistics courtesy of the FBI
So, statistically, doctors are approximately 9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners.
Remember, ‘Guns don’t kill people, doctors do’.
FACT: NOT EVERYONE HAS A GUN, BUT ALMOST EVERYONE HAS AT LEAST ONE DOCTOR.
Please alert your friends to this alarming threat.
We must ban doctors before this completely gets out of hand!!!

RE: Guns and Doctors
Except it isn't a twist, it is statistically accurate. An interesting play on words to illustrate a point. Art Buchwald once did a column on murder weapons in Chicago. I don't remember the actual statistics but bats, knives and tire irons ranked higher than guns as murder weapons.

Funny statistic. Okay, I'm no Ralph Nader or f'in Hillary, but here's another statistic:
In 2002 there were 442,880 non-fatal victims of rape, assault, and robbery that involved a firearm. (US Department of Justice)
I don't think anyone wielded a doctor during a robbery, thought dentists' drills could be considered a weapon or torture device.
"Give me all of your money or I'll . . . I'll . . . leave unsanitary bandages in your wounds!"
(Muddy - not making light of your recent situation)

RE: Guns and Doctors
LOL Trust me, I don't fear much of anything and life is good. I did have an incident at a rest stop in Texas where my CCW prevented a crime. I never reported it because nothing happened but without my CCW it would have.
