If you file a claim with her insurance and they accept, it shouldn't matter to you how much it costs, the price won't be on you.

If you file a claim with your own insurance company and you have a low enough deductible, cost shouldn't be an issue either.

My deductible is $100.

We had a car hit us in a parking lot and the police wouldn't even write it up as it was a non-injury accident on private property. This was in my wife's car in Texas. Basically they said "tough S**T, move on." Then had the same thing happen to her in Oklahoma City. I'm not a law scholar but I've always been told in parking lots you're very vulnerable.

I have alway's heard the same, thaton private property the police cannot do anything. They alway's say to contact your insurance company. This in my opinion is a bad law, it's almost your word against theirs all the time and you end up paying the deductible that in most cases is more than the damage. I would assume that the insurance commissioner had something to do with this.......[:'(]
