Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac Tires
I just bought an 07 H3 with those tires, they were almost brand new when I picked it up. I can't comment on how the mileage was before, but with the 33's and no roof rack or grill guard to add drag I'm getting 17.5-18 at 70 mph on the highway with one high of 19 in the 3000 miles I've put on it. The tires were at 45 psi when I got it and it drove great but I've dropped the pressure to 42 but that didn't seem as planted on the road so I upped it back up to 43-44 psi. As stated, they don't growl but have a nice purr on the road that you can just hear around town with the windows down and the grip on road is excellent. I've only gone down fire trails so far so I can't comment on real offroad work but expect it to do pretty darn well looking at that aggressive tread. I would bet that a less offroad oriented tire would up the mileage by about 2 mpg.
Really 17.5-18 on the highway? I get a consistant 18.5 highway and 17.5 city driving right now. I wonder if it would stay the same with the duratracs, since most people cant even get 18highway with stock tires..
Did you try your local Goodyear dealer? That's how I got mine. They located 5 tires and had them shipped to their shop overnite from their warehouse.
Just order from tirerack and have them mounted/balanced at ANY tire shop. They charge like 50$ for a mount and balance man
Check with you local GoodYear retailer, I was going to order from tire rack like I have the last four times, and I checked my local dealer, He sold me the duratracs, for thirty dollars less that I could get from tirerack with shipping, He also mounted balanced and filled them with nitrogen for free. What a great country we live in "Free Enterprise"
