Anybody have a gobi rack and XM? the edge of the light bracket covers the xm antenna just a little bit and so whenever I am driving west, it is blocking the southern sky and XM blanks out. if i could move the antenna an inch to the right or the rack to the left, it would be fine but its so annoying that i can't use XM if the compass on the mirror shows any W (nw, sw, w)...i might just ditch xm but i dont want to![&o]

 

You can't move the antenna wthout drilling more holes in the roof. You might want to look into an aftermarket XM antenna and mount it to the Gobi rack and bypass the OEM one. Just a thought.

 

I decided to pass on the Gobi rack and go for a custom built one. It is going to be sweet, kinda along the lines of the Gobi but in my mind more stylish and avoids the antenna issue. I am going to go with the Gobi Ladder rack.

It will be a month or so when it is completed. I will post pics later.

 

If you want a good XM antenna, search on calibex.com for a TERK XM-5 marine antenna.
It gets better reception than the standard one.
It mounts on a boat ratchet mount.

 

Ghostrider, sorry to hear about your problem! Does the Gobi affect your OnStar phone at all? Is the rack the problem or the wind deflector on the rack? You might be able to just remove the deflector shield but I can't say for sure.
