Getting a new truck is the h3 the one
#15
I am a new H3 owner but a long time Jeep owner. My perspective is this, if you are primarily a serious off roader, the Jeep has better visibility for that task and the live front axle will articulate more, especially with the sway bar disconnect I had on my late Rubicon.
The Jeep is much more utilitarian, which I miss in the H3. For example, I like the removable carpet and pan drains. Aftermarket; no comparison.
For primarily highway use and occasional off road, the H3 is the winner hands down. Quite, comfortable and available with the V-8, that was especially important to me. My Rubicon was extremely underpowered with the 3.8L, even with 4.11 gears.
For the money, if you compare a 4dr Rubi with the H3 Adventure, they are about the same cost once rebates are included. My guess is that the Jeep will be worth more at resale time, but who knows.

Not a jeep fan at all! dont like them and never owned one. Followed a rubicon last year during a heavy snow storm on the way to work and all it did was fish tail down the Hi-way. Probably the inexp. driver but the short wheelbase dont help.If you liked your colorado, you will love an H3! I went from a huge 2005 ford excursion with the 6.0 powerstroke and a mild lift. the best towing rig around with great looks and power and i dont regret at all getting rid of it and getting a new H3.

I've had numerous Jeeps and now an H3. IF you are a serious off-road person, the two door Rubi, which I just sold back to Crapsler, is the ticket. Event the Unlimited with doors removed and top off for visibility gives it an edge. If you prefer to have a bit of comfort along with your off-road use for that on-road commute, the H3 seems to me to be the one.
