Default RE: gas grills

What ya do is git yerself a 55 gallon drum and cut 'er in half from top ta bottem. Then ya git yerself some angle iron and ya weld some leggs ta 1 half. Rig up som hinges so you can open 'r easy like, then weld 'em on so the oth'r half makes a lid. Then ya take yerself a 35 gallon drum and ya do the same ta it, 'cept ya don't put legs on it and ya only need 1 half. Weld some flat steel to the cut side so it fits down into the bottem half of the 55 gallon drum flush with the top of it. Weld this up so it don't leak. Cut yerself some stretched steel to cover the 35 gallon drum to act as the grill. Then run down to yer local wreckin' yard and talk 'em out of the whole injekshin system out of an old Dodge diesel pickup. The whole thing, injecters and Bosh piston injekshin pump. Make sure its one of 'em thet aint got no 'lectroniks on it. Ya want full mekanicle injekshin an' throttle. Now, flip yer grill over and drill holes in the bottem so you got some place to put yer injecters. Ask the missus for the motor out of the 'lectric cloze dryer to power the injekshin pump. I'm shure she'll be willin', specially wen she knows yer gonna be doin' th' cookin' fer now on. Rig the pump an' the motor up next to the grill, but far enuf away ta keep the heat from killin' the motor. Then ya git yerself a 5 gallon can of diesel. Hook that up to the injekshin pump with a hose, and yer in business. Plug in the motor and get fuel squirtin' into the bottem of the grill. Fire it off with the welder through a hole in the bottem and modulate yer heat with the throttle. make sure you put a stack on it to git the smoke away from yer stakes. Ain't nobody like ther meat tasting like no tail pipe. Wen yer in the mood for cookin' with wood, just fill the 35 gallon drum with wood, pore on about a gallon of racing gas to get 'er started and chuck in a match. You'll be eating good in no time.

In addendum to Linus' post, please put up video camera outside the blast area, I wanna see this .....

On a similar note we use JET-A and rail road ties for bonfires at the dropzone ... insta-fire
