Fuel tank removel
hello everyone
i have a 2007 h3 and am needing to replace the fuel filter........yes, its in the tank.yay!! i'm trying to find a trick or something to drop it. I'm not having the best of luck. Tank almost empty shield is removed and tank strap removed. It seems to be resting on a crossbeam on the front side of the tank. Any help or sugesstions would be very helpful!
thanks

Replaced my fuel pump a few years ago. I can't quite remember, but the screen is inside the fuel pump assembly. The assembly has to be taken apart to access the screen. Tank removal? There are two straps. One underneath at the back and one over top at the cross member. Here is the thread.

The front strap is attached to the cross member. There is a bolt or nut holding it on one side and it hooks into the other. Might even be connected to the frame. It was over 2 years ago that I took the tank out and my memory of it is fuzzy. I'm not going under my Hummer today to take a look. It's nasty out. Freezing rain and snow and rain and pure sloppiness.
lmbo, just printed those out 5 min ago, found the front strap bolt and she's on the ground!!! Now, need to remove one fitting (I think it has to do with vapor) i'm researching the various fittings soins I dont muff it up.
