If you were injured on the job I would think it would be hard for them to cut you loose. The truck will sell. Some will like the interior and some won't but the price is right so it should move fairly quickly. Good luck on the sale and tough deal with the job.
Yes, all the diamond plate was on it when I got the truck from Chris. I was honestly planning on changng the whole interior. I just had my friend that owns a stereo shop look at it to build a whole new console with arm rests and cup holders in the back and change the speaker setup and reconfigure the front setup. The diamond plate is nice but id rather have a nice clean newerlook. If I still have the truck a month or so from now it will all probably be redone. I just started getting a clicking when turning left and accelerating so im guessing im about to be replacing a cv shaft as well. Has anyone had to do this and know how pricey this is? Im hoping not too bad. Now I have all this time off i can spend more time on the Hummer. By the way yes you would think since I am hurt from work they wouldn't be able to fire me but they did and they fired the Human Resources Coordinator for standing up for me. It was all for working overtime while on light duty and my supervisor had asked me to do it. Basically just an excuse to get rid of an injured worker...now they have to pay me workers comp to sit at home...lol...any questions bout the truck feel free to ask...
No, I haven't even really put it up for sale yet. I posted it on Mautofied.com to see what kinda offers I would get but its just sitting in my garage, not listed for sale or anything. Been busy catchin up with stuff that was behind from workin so much. Gonna try to get it up for sale before the week is over. Plus I wanna check out the cv shafts first since it sounds like one is clicking when i turn while accelerating taking off.
Ok so I put the Hummer on the lift and pulled the wheel off and inspected the axels and differential. Come to find out there is a bolt that goes through the planetary or gear box or whatever you prefer to call it. You remove a plug and there is a keeper bolt that threads into the axle to hold it in and the bolt broke off so the axel is popping out of the planetary. Tomorrow I am going to tear into it more. I am going the pull out the axle and make sure the teeth are not stripped on it. If not then I am going to have the bolt reversed out and just put a new bolt in it. I will keep you posted!

kind of a pain, but not too big a deal. Once you pull off the halfshaf you might be able to just work that bolt out. If memory serves it's a 9/16 bolt that is only supposed to be tightened to 30 or 40 ft/lbs. The access cover on the hub shoouldn't be too tight either -- maybe 20 ft/lbs. I can check my maint. manual to get the correct #'s if you want. It's pretty simple, just a bit of grunt and dirty.
good luck

Yeah, thats what I was sayin....I've looked at it and see what I will need to do to fix it but its just a matter of doing it. I do not have the equipment to do it here at the house so I am doing it at my buddy's garage so I am at the mercy of him. We were supposed to do it today but he has decided to be missing in action today and isnt answering his phone. It has been clicking for a little while now. Do you think from experience that anything is gonna be stripped inside there from it popping out and teeth grinding? Looks like it will be a job for another day
I really wanna get it fixed asap. I could do it at my house but it would be alot faster with airtools and a lift and now that it is at the garage I dont wanna drive it anymore than I have to so that is doesnt further destroy anything.
