I built a front receiver hitch on my H3T Alpha and wrote about on the Hummer X Forums site. Thought it might be of interest for those on this site as well.. but didn't feel like retypeing the whole thing. Here's a link to the post:

In short, I used flat metal and welded it to a receiver hitch and bolted it on behind the tow hooks. 12,000lb winch from harbour freight with wireless remote.
