The H3T will have a front locker when it comes out. We'll just have to wait and see who makes it.

 

Pretty sure its an Eaton. I met a couple of the proving grounds engineers last fall on a Rubicon workday. They had a modified Colorado that had the H3 cast iron front diff with an e-locker.

 

Once we figure out what diff and locker the H3T has then we need to find outif it will bolt in to the older H3's with the aluminum housing.

I'm looking to find a bolt-in cast ironhousing with gears and locker already installed. That way I can do the swap myself. Id' need the wiring set up and dash switch also.

Anybody else So. CA interested in doing the same?


Another option is buy the parts and find someone to set up the diff and locker.

If it won't bolt -in then I guess an Alpha with front and rear lockersis in the Future

 

What is the Difference between the Aluminum and Cast Diffs??? Cant you I-5 Guys pull the guts out of your aluminum diffs and buy a Cast Iron Casing?

 

Oneis made ofaluminum, the other is made of cast iron.

The aluminum diffs are weak and are prone to housing flex and cracking. The CI diff in the current Alpha is the same size as the aluminum diffs in the I5 and will bolt right in. Just need to swap gears.

 

So how much is the cast iron housing?

 

Can't find a price on it, and when I had mine done I only paid the difference vs. the aluminum housing.
