Default front locker info

Hi all
new to the forum but been a hummer fan for awhile. i just got my Alpha a few weeks ago and have already started the mod process. Looking foward to participating in the forum with all these other great hummer fans.
Just read an interesting article and not sure if anyone has seen it already; H3T info etc.(http://www.trucktestdigest.com/TTDfe...H3Toffroad.htm)

I have been doing some mod research and contacted ARB and Eaton with regards to the front locker dilema and here is their reply(s)

Me:

I am trying to find out if your company makes a front e-locker unit for the new Hummer H3 alpha.I understand it is now equipped with a cast iron front differential. I have sent a few e-mails but have not received a reply. If I am sending this inquiry to the wrong person could you please direct me to the correct address.

Thank you

and

I was wondering if you had, or planned to have anE-locker system for the new 2008 Hummer H3 Alpha(V8 engine) front axle. Will the rear e-locker unit work in the front? If so can you provide me with a model number? I am not sure on the set upsize or if it is different from the 5 cylinder model but understand it is now a factory cast iron unit for added strength.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

them:
Thank you for your interest in Eaton differentials. I am not certain what axle in under the front of the Alpha. But we have never manufactured a selectable locker for the front applications of the H3 altogether.

and from another Eaton guy....

We appreciate your interest in our products.
I'm not yet familiar with the 2008 H3's front axle but an ELocker is not planned for the earlier H3 due to strength issues with the front axles. Tests have shown that the front axle shafts will not survive with a front locker.
I apologize for the delay in getting back to you.

Welcome to the forum, nice looking rig, we are all in some way on a quest to hopefully find a solution to this front locker issue, there are better chances for youAlpha guys to get a locker on then us aluminum diff guys[&o]unless they have done something different on the H3T then I think you will have something soon for your Alpha.

ARB makes a good product but they have been telling "us" for almost 2 years now that they are in development with stuff on the H3. Primarily the lockers....

There were/are rumors that newer H3/T models will be getting larger front diffs. Don't know if that's the case with the H3T as it is not listed in any of the articles. But I'll get a chance to check it out in person in Moab next month. [sm=smiley16.gif]

The H3's only began shipping to Australia in the last few months. Now that they've got their hands on some, I'd expect to start seeing some products.

I would not be surprised if they put something like an 8.5 front diff, it would only make sense and allot easier to fit a locker
