Default Free Satellite radio??

My son was messing around with my channels a few days ago, and changed the band to satellite- low and behold, there it was. I don't have a subscription (moneys tight) and so i figured it was a freebee day or so, just to get me to buy it. Its been almost a week now and it still works. Anyone else have this? Hey- I'm not looking a gift horse in the mouth, i LOVE it, just wondering if this is a holiday thing, or what?

I am just curious, when you turn to Channel "0" do you have a radio ID number ?
It should be a series of letters and numbers.

I too had the first three months of XM free when I bought this truck in 07.
I probably pulled the trigger too soon and signed up for a subscription right after the three months expired
Glad you are getting a freebie.

maybe a previous owner bought an extended contract... or hasn't remembered to cancel their old one.

More than likely the previous owner is paying for you and never noticed it on their bill.
My 2 came with the Sirius radio turned on (I bought used), but it was shut off in short order.
The number one reason I no longer have Sirius--I couldn't get them to notify me when they renewed my subscription and the only way you can have a subscription is that they have your card number so they can renew without notifying. Freakin' scam artists. Otherwise, I really liked having sat radio!

I'm not sure. I'm the second owner, and have had the vehicle for a few years now. It definately wasn't always on. I will look at the radio ID and see what it says. Or yes- maybe a promo thing. Strange part is that our work vehicles also have xm (not subscribed to) and they arent getting the free promo - if thats what it is. Dunno.

And yes, it does show a radio ID number. What does that mean?

It means your radio has an XM account.
