That hole is supposed to be there it lets the condensation drain out of the muffler so it does not rust from the inside out.
I had a similar problem, there is a charcoal canister filter assembly above by the muffler, there is a solenoid valve that closes the fuel system to contain the gasoline vapors from the tank and supply and return lines while the vehicle is running, and then the solenoid opens to vent the fuel vapors through the charcoal canister into the atmosphere when the vehicle is shut off.. My solenoid was corroded stuck open, and was not closing the system (allowing it to pressurize) when running, showing the large EVAP system leak. I was able to replace just the solenoid and not the entire charcoal canister assembly.
Could be a bad gas cap also.

Default leak, and Fuel Cap light

ok, so my check engine light comes on for a day or two then goes off for a few days then back on. In between sometimes on the panel a light comes on that says Fuel Cap. It stays on just a few minutes then goes off. The third picture in that series where those bolts are had water leaking from it one day, is that normal also? Guess Im just gonna have to let a mechanic look at it..that check engine light is annoying...lol

That wetness looks like condensation, if you run the vehicle for 15 -20 minutes I'm sure its gone,
I don't know what year yours is but replacing the gas cap would be a inexpensive first do it yourself start. If you have Auto Zone, O'Rileys, Advance Auto, Napa, Pep Boys, ECT any of the chain part stores they can get you a new gas cap. The seal at the top dries up and starts to leak.
If that's not it and you need to take it to a mechanic, you can tell him it's not the gas cap!

You can't post a pic from your computer directly to the forums other than a thumbnail size, pretty useless. The forum software will only allow you to load a small pic file.

So what you have to do is post your pics online so they have a URL address, then link that through the pic icon.

Basically, you create a free photo storage account, like photobucket, post whatever pics you want there, copy the direct link and paste it into the box that pops up when you click the photo icon in the tool bar above Name: image.gif
Views: 268
Size: 149 Bytes.

Then you can post up pics in full size files. Small
Name: Oldsrear1.jpg
Views: 323
Size: 22.0 KB

.... and LARGE
Name: Blast.jpg
Views: 350
Size: 185.3 KB

In other words, your posts have no pics.
