Nope. The radio in the 3 gets AM just fine.

 

ya i now notice that the sound drops down on AM as well!!! seems like it loses its highs, but the lows are still there......CD's work great!! very puzzling........thinking either the antenna or tuner in the stereo??

 

If your radio cuts out and resets , tell your dealer, mine was doing that and they replaced it.

My antennae was loose on mine....I happened to notice it when I was putting winter blades on my wipers......I was hearing this knocking sound every now and again, inside the cab....well that was what was causing it....you might want to check your antennae and also the connection.....

 

A question - are all 08 h3's sound systems xm compatable/available? I see there are at least two sound system package options (1 cd versus 6 cd) and have to decide between the two - any input?

 

My wife's 08 only has the single CD option but also has XM.

 

I just threw away an old eight track - about the size of a new TV. [sm=loser.gif]

No one can comment if the 6 cd package has a better "sound" overall i.e. different system/speakers etc?

 

My 06 has the Monsoon with the sub in the back (now I know why kids like that ****!). Our antenna broke out 2 weeks after we got it. It's bonded into a socket with the connector inside. I used a high strength epoxy to re-install but I angled it to match the windshield. The plastic cover over the mast needed to be ovaled toward the back to get this done. Very solid now, good reception when the radio is used (rare I admit), and I've yet to see it done on another. While I was at it I put a small amount of oil on the threads to ease removal for winter car wash visits. If it gets a lil stiff to take out I simply take a drop of oil from the dipstick when I leave the car wash. Works for me.
