FJ's are having frame cracking issues
If you are a US born citizen, you should always lean towards supporting your country when two competing products are comparative. On top of that, the freakin' body is cracking in half on the FJ and there is still a question in your mind as to which is better? I say get out of here and hopefully the misfits in the FJ forum that support the Japan will take you in and all of you guys can have a pity party talking about how to get the best deal on body repairs and many other things that come along with taking your whole front clip off your vehicle off to get it repaired!

I can see I will gain no value from this site. All I have read is that the H3 is "badass" and the FJ is made in Japan so it must be crap. Who made your TV?.

If you want pro FJ opinions, maybe you need to go to an FJ site, not a hummer site.
Honestly BDH3, I think you will like the Hummer better. Like I said I owned the FJ for 10 months and gave it a good run for it's money. Overall I think the Hummer has a nicer feel and will hold it's value. If you are looking for some good input on this website.... there ya go! My sister and I bought our FJ's at the same time (better deal) and we both traded them in less than a year later. I am not an FJ "hater", I am just happier with the H3.
I would take an F-j with a cracked frame any day over a POS hummer. Get the frame welded and you can go 300,000 miles. You would be lucky to get 150,000 miles out of a hummer. For anybody that is thinking about buying one of these pieces of crap head on over too Edmunds.com and check out the owners reviews. What will you find? Pages and pages of disgruntled Hummer owners that constantly have to fix everything from Electrical modules (600 dollars apiece that go out again even after being replaced),trim pieces falling off, rust issues etc etc. If this vehicle was such a hot item GM would not have sold it to the Chinese for a 3rd of the companies value. Must be awsome for you Toyota haters to have a place to go though where you all made the same mistake. I tried to talk some friends out of buying one and now they are dealing with most of the issues listed on Edmunds. The vehicle only has 20,000 miles. WAKE UP YOU PEOPLE ARE IN DENIAL. lol if you want to go serious four wheeling buy a Jeep Wrangler or a Toyota 4runner or Pickup. Yes I know about the recent Toyota recall but at least they will go 200 or 300 thousand miles. Lol if not go ahead and pi_ _ your money away. The Chinese will love you for it.
^^ lol @ this guy! What a douche; come up with some real stats next time instead of a rambling pile of garbage and maybe somebody will take you seriously, lol.
Man you guys weren't kidding when you said this site gets a lot of trolls.
I'd take a GM product over a Toyota anyday right now; quality is way up for GM and Toyota's has been falling dramatically. In the real world where guys use trucks for logging and other demanding jobs Toyota is not making any ground, just too unreliable and finicky. Ford is actually coming up as well, but it is pretty much dominated by Dodge & GM products.
Fit and Finish for my H3T was very high compared to most of the other vehicles I test drove. I found the FJ used a lot of cheap plastics and had bare minimum creature comforts... and that huge blind spot didn't help it either. Plus my H3T came with stock front & rear lockers & an ultra low 1:69 crawl ration with a better MPG rating & ran on regular gas. When you get to look at some of the trucks & SUV's first hand and compare the Hummer brand is very good value, straight forward design and great initial quality. It would not surprise me if I got 300K on mine down the road at all.

What an interesting thread? in my apartment complex, one of the other tennants always ragged on me for the last year when I bought my H3, I haven't seen his FJ around for a month. Then I ran into him at the mailbox, it turns out he went offroading frequently and guess what, no more FJ, he said he had to get it towed to the dealer because it looked like it was going to break in half. Then I replied with "like an accordian"
Lol. I love how the guy says fj is good for 300,000 miles, but if your car breaks in half on a speed bump at 100k miles(im being generous). I don't see how you will keep wheeling the extra 200k with the middle of your car on the floor.
