RE: filling 18" tires.
I have an 07 H3X which comes with 18" wheels. I have no problems adding air to my tires. Are yours aftermarket wheels? You may need to add new valve stems. Does your rims have air pressure monitors?

RE: filling 18" tires.
I had this VERY problem last weekend. The dealer told me to bring the pressure to 32# up from 30 to stop the TPMS from going off in the morning(didn't work). I was at my parents house and started with thesmallerportable air compressor and nothing went in. We filled it to 110 pounds and cranked up the output. Still nothing! So we changed to the bigger compressor and stretched hoses from the garage to the drive way and it still didn't work right away. After messing around, we changed air chucks. We were able to fil his truck tires. We finally got it to work on the H3. I wonder if the TPMS inserts are getting in the way? I have to call them about the monitors so I'll ask them about that too.Not sure if it was a bad air chuck or I wonder if itcouldbe bad valve stems?? I noticed that the air pins were quite far into the valve stem. I actually got a recall on some valve stems I got with tires I bought from Discount tire for my Mazda truck.
