Is there anyway to disarm the factory security system in my 06? We installed a codealarm remote start a while back. We have nothing but issues since then. Wouldn't always happen but sometimes the factory system would arm would start honking the horn, prevent starting and become impossible to turn off Not always but sometimes. This left my wife nearly stranded several times, plus some embarrassment. After numerous visits to the shop they have determined the factory system needs to be disabled but do not know or have the capability to do so.

Does anyone know how to get around this? I don't think carrying two remotes is what she or I had in mind.

 

THere is a factory disarm and it should be in the driver door on the unlock side of the switch or under the dash on the factory alarm module.

BTW if the the place that installed your alarm does not know how to disarm the factory alarm then I would suggest finding a new place to work on your car.

 

Am I looking for a button? A certain color wire to ground out? I've called several places and scoward the web with no luck.

 

I guess that's a no?
