ERR THEIVES...security question
I parked my car in manhattan and came to see my window severely scratched and window seal indented, whicih to me seemed pretty indicative of an attempt to steal my car. I'm starting to get paranoid of people stealing it. with this said anyone recommend any security which will alarm if anyone tampers with the window area ?
Aside from one which incorporates a mercury switch (sensing vehicular movement of some kind), I did have a high-end alarm system in my Ferrariback in the late 80s which in fact sensed anything which entereda preset perimeter of the vehicle. It would warn those who entered the perimeter with verbal commands and announced with awarning that the alarm would activate within a ten second time frame. I believe that the alarm system was in fact a combination of two alarm systems...one being a 'Viper' system, yet the other name escapes me at the moment. Although I and others did hear the warning 'go off' a few times, I never did experience any type of vandalism/damage/attempted burglary/theftof any kind. BTW, although money is/was not a consideration, I never/have everallowed any of my vehicles to be valet parked, as it 'keeps one less hand out of the cookie jar'...so to speak. [sm=icon_cheers.gif]
