Factory Nav & iPod

Factory Nav & iPod
Have been searching, but yet to find the answer. My wife wants to put factory nav in her Monsoon equipped H3 and also use her iPod Touch. Can she have both? How does the iPod connect to the factory nav? She can't stand her current FM-based connection with the base oem HU, and wants the factory nav unit with a 'direct' iPod connection. Thanks for the help,
