Default Factory Bluetooth in an 06

I just wanted to add that I was able to find an OnStar box from a 2010 Hummer H3 (part number: 25965167) and install it in my 06 Hummer and it works great! I paid $100 for the box shipped. Installation was pretty easy and the OnStar box is located right below the radio.

I had to pull the silver cover off the dash and slide it off to the side without even unhooking connectors. Swapped out boxes and paired up the iPhone. I did not even have any connectivity issues that were seen once the vehicle was turned off, then started again. It works great and exceeds my expectations.

If you can find a bluetooth box, then I recommend this upgrade! They are not easy to find though!

Probably the only down side is you cannot stream music, which in my opinion, you should be able to do...

Good luck!

Default Sounds great - would love more information

What radio do you have? Monsoon or standard. How do you pair your phone? I am assuming through the buttons on the rear view mirror? Thanks in advance.

Thanks guys. I have the monsoon 6 disc, but that really doesn't matter. The bluetooth is in the OnStar module. If you have the Bluetooth, to pair your phone, you push the button with the speaking man on it, beside the foglight button by the headlight switch. She will say ready, then you say Bluetooth. If you have bluetooth, it will say "bluetooth ready". Then you say pair and it will tell you to put your phone to search for bluetooth and give you the pin code. If you don't have bluetooth, it won't do any of that.

From what I have learned, if you want to activate OnStar, I think you need to have GM link up the internal serial numbers to your actual vehicle. I'm not a subscriber, so I really didn't care.

The 09 Trailblazer box works as well. Finding these boxes are tricky and from what I have read, you can't even buy the modules from GM anymore. I was pretty lucky and glad I found one! A lot of junkyards are all linked to a database and they can tell the options the car has, so you can easily see if it has voice control with it. There is also an RPO that reflects this.

I lost myself. If i have an Onstar means I always have a bluetooth module?
Pressing button activate phone and asking me to input number at loud. Command bluetooth is unrecognizable.

The Bluetooth is in the same box as the Onstar, but it wasn't available in the H3 until 2009. I'm not sure if they all got it or if it were an option, but I do know that if you have a 2006-2008 H3, it didn't get Bluetooth from the factory, so you have to swap out the OnStar box like I did to get the factory Bluetooth.

Bluetooth would be great, but i have 2007 and in my country that kind of stuff is almost unavilable or in sick prices. If there were any additional boxes less than 100$ with shippement, it would be fair deal. Box using on star mic and factory speakers.

All this On star looks like great thing, bu outside US it's useless.
