Default Exhaust Heat Shield - P/No & Supplier

Exhaust Heat Shield

There is a heat shield on the RHS at the bottom of the engine (see pic) which has rusted to pieces and fallen off.

Is this a vital part i.e. can I survive without it for a while? (have done so far)

Would anyone know what its called, what the P/No is and where I can get a replacement?

Any help much appreciated?

So I have a replacement set for a 2006 Hummer that is brand new and never been used. I had the same issue as you but my exhaust shields were so badly rusted that the bolts were disintegrated and the tech could not get them off. I had to go the route and replace both exhaust manifolds which came with the heat shields. Talk about an expensive job....and to top it off when the tech replaced the manifolds he screwed up an oxygen sensor that I had to replace also.

Sounds like the heat shields are a common issue and I take it the truck runs run OK without them.

H2Hummer indeed mine are as you say badly corroded but Im willing to have a go at somehoe getting them to fit. How much do you want for your set, also I'm in the UK but that shouldn't be a problem. PM me with your offer + shipping and we can take it from there... Cheers

I know its a typo (so no offense or anything) but it is not often that a typo literally makes me laugh out loud...

You're right it was a typo. I ran "hoe" through the American Urban translator I see the funny side :-)

This might make you laugh even more, in the UK a hoe is a gardening tool !

that may work too....

That's very kind of you but I really wouldn't want you to go out of your way.

Also I get the impression that the shield come as part of the manifold so there may not be a P/No on it.

If you happen to see it on your travels then by all means please let me know.

Thank you!
