Default Tech question about heat shield

I have 2006 hummer H3 and I have noise upon acceleration. The dealer claims it's a rusted bolt on heat shield so they are going to order a belt for catylac converter. Anyone hear this before?

I've never heard this before - because it makes no sense.

What? HUH? Belt or Bolt? Do you mean heat shield bolt?

My H3 has had the heat shield on the exhaust manifold replaced ones and it already needs to be replaced again because it is rattling. The bolts that hold the shield on rust and the heat shield for some reason falls apart right at the bolts. Not sure if it is because of dissimilar metals or what.

MOVED to the correct section.

The Hummer Forums Help & Suggestion Center is for........ questions on how to use....... the FORUMS and features. Like: how do I post a pic?

Got nothing to do with vehicles.

I ditched mine because it keeps excess heat in that particular area, and I seem to always have trouble with cracked manifolds that way
