So I got the truck back from the mecanic he told me I had a short on the abs module that it needs to be replace he by pass the module but the truck still turning off ����

I had the truck scanned n it said the main computer the tranny n fuel computer malfunction miss fired I should of taken a pic of the codes

following I am having the same issue, the GM forums are saying it might be a faulty crank position sensor

Well, Long and short of it was that I gave up in 2015. I read an article that the DOJ sued GM $1B for covering up the engine shutdown which resulted in 17 deaths. I called GM corporate and they send me back to the local dealership. Although most of the problem in DOJ case was attributed to the faulty ignition switch and I had changed the switch too with no avail, GM worked with me to pick up another vehicle. I ended up getting a Cadillac SRX with a whole bunch of incentives and dealer took the Hummer. I am happy with the SRX but never found out the cause of the shut downs after spending thousands and thousands of dollars.

thank you for the awesome reply, I am going to show this to my wife in the hope she will let me get rid of it. She loves her hummer and I tried everything to fix it...

Well installed the ignition switch yesterday and the wife drove it to work today (7 miles) and did not shut off. We are giving it a week or so to see what happens, if it fails again trading it in for a 4runner...
