I agree, Doc... A whole lotta nothing. I have had two different friends at two different dealerships listen to it and told me that it was nothing. As has been said, it goes away as soon as oil pressure is built up.

06 Same rattle noise.

I have a 06 with 110000 same noise since I bought it. I have test drove probably 20 H3's all had this sound. No problems at all just noisy at start up.

My 06 with 120k miles has just started making this noise at start up. It knocks/clicks 3-5 times then stops. Based on others comments it looks like this is nothing to worry about.

startup engine noise

Wow,I had forgotten about this posting.Still got my H3, still got the start up noise, got 130,000 miles. I don't think its the timing set.Im still leaning on lifter pump up.
