Electrical issues
I purchased my 2004 H2 about 7 months ago and I’ve had a couple issues come up with it 1: One day while I was sitting in a parking lot idling the vehicle and talking on my phone, it died out of nowhere, was thinking it had a bad fuel pump but a quick google search suggested that the gauge may have been reading incorrectly, so I put a few gallons in and it fired right up, but was still showing 1/4 tank even with only a couple gallons of gas, but when I fill it the gauge still goes up and down, but I haven’t let it go below 1/2 tank for the most part in fear of breaking down , What is the likely issue? A sensor in the tank or the gauge itself... 2: my drivers heated seat started acting up, the back button no longer does anything and the bottom button works fine but the seat turns itself on and off, sometimes it’ll stay on for 30 minutes other times it’ll change every few seconds, the heating elements in the seat are still working fine, and the passenger side is working like normal, though I haven’t tried the rear seats since this problem started a few days ago. 3.the transmission temperature gauge doesn’t move at all whether I’m towing my horse trailer through the mountains on a 100 degree day through the mountains or it been sitting untouched for a few days, it always stuck in the middle even when the car isn’t running and the keys aren’t in the ignition, should I look into an aftermarket gauge setup like many install on diesel trucks or fix the original.. if I fix the original, how do I do this without messing up the odometer?
Thank you in advertising,Any advice and suggestions are appreciated
The gauges are a very easy fix, look on ebay for the new stepper motors. I did all of mine in under an hour.
The seats MIGHT be due to a damaged connection block down at your left foot. I used mine as a brace when I first purchased the truck which caused my seat heater connection to burn up. Take to cover off the connection block, then split it open and look for burned 'pins'.
