Dynatech Long Tube Headers and Borla Catback
Now that I've spent some more time in the h2, the exhaust has grown more on me. It seems to have bedded in a bit if that makes sense or at least it's my perception. It's a lower growl now. My friend also has a borla set up but his was custom made out of borla components. He went straight through (no cats) and his is louder than mine but more raspier. I was initially underwhelmed especially after laying out cash on the headers which weren't cheap as I was all geared up for the sound of war to come from the pipes but I'm pleased with it now. The lack of cabin drone is a huge plus!
Baldfox, i have a few questions. Did you ceramic coated the headers? Did you noticed any additional heat build-up under the hood? Did the cross pipe interfered with under carriage protection? I'm asking this because the Rubberduck UCP on my truck is already touching the dented section of the oem cross pipe.
I'm buying the exact same headers and cat but with the Corsa Sport Exhaust 14211 and
Corsa Off Road Tip 23HT3002.
Thanks!

One thing I learned is that everyone has a different opinion on what sounds good to them. I had made up my mind that it was going to be a Corsa. Borla I was familiar with from my offshore days but still wanted the meanness of the Corsa.
I went to my regular mechanic to see if he would install one and he said no just as quick as that. We have become friends over the years and talked at length.
Finally, he said what I would like was a Flowmaster 50 HD. Well, I didn't think the flowmaster was anywhere near what I wanted and was long ago checked off my list of a brand I wanted. Plus, the 50 HD doesn't fit my 2006 Hummer.
The 50 HD is made for heavy duty trucks, etc and he made me a deal I couldn't refuse. Worst case for mwe was to cut it off and start over.
He called me in a few days and I have to tell you it is just what I wanted. Now, I have to say they are a custom muffler shop as well and repiped the whole thing but I have the original cats.
A long time ago I worked for our uncle and our vehicles had that low rumbling sound to them if you know what I mean. There was no mistaking that sound. This is exactly what I have now on the hummer. So, this is just my two cents and I guess I like that low grumbling fed vehicle sound. It's kind of comical driving through some bad neighborhoods and watching every ones faces. I guess my life is pretty dull now if it has come down to this.
Good thing we stay armed in Texas.
