Default Dvd no power

Drivers side DVD player will not work. Is this a common problem...with and easy check and fix? Just asking before I rip things apart. Thanks

Well, since there's only 1 DVD player, I assume that you mean the driver side "speaker" doesn't work, right? Does it work with the radio? If so, then your stereo head unit is shot and needs to be replaced. If not, then start by pulling the door panel to check the wiring at the speaker. If that's ok, then you'll need to pull the center dash panel (where the head unit is) to access the back of the stereo head unit & check the wiring at that point.

I guess I'll clear up the issue since this will just keep going back and forth. He's got rear, head rest mounted DVD players....'driver' & 'passenger'.

Yes Broken Halo,

Took the drivers rear seat cover off...all good. I traced the two wires. Why the ever routed them the way they did one will never know. It is going into the seat slide track and simply pulled out. I have the end with a connector on it. New problem is this wire is connected to something on the bottom of the back of the center console. The wire that pulled out of the connector will go into this console about 5". So now I will search on how to remove that. It does not look like fun!

Pic of wire end. Should be an easy fix once I figure out the console removal.

Wow, sorry. Now I feel really stupid. Glad you got it figured out. Console removal shouldn't be too hard.

I can not find a good pic of an exploded view of the console. That would be a big help.

Fixed!
I just took out the rear bolts holding the seat down, reached in under the console and pulled out wires. Because GM decided to run the wire in my electric seat track, when someone wanted the seat as far forward as one could get it......it pulled the wires apart. I simply just reconnected and both DVD players worked perfectly. All this was done WITHOUT removing the console. My first sticky!
