The dealer says it drains the memory in the "computer" and that is what resets the elec sys.

Thats what the forum is for pointers and tricks of the trade. You guys have taught me and I can hopefully give a little back. Guess I'll go give it a bath since its a little dirty...

I just also realized the power door locks no longer work also. Anyone know if the fuse block under the dash is the only one? Cant find the accessory fuse. PDL and PW fuses checked ok.
What I don't understand is, there IS NO fuse box underneath the dash, so what areYOU talking about?

This happens at the dealer I work for on occasion. I have had cars that wont turnover or start or all sorts of weird problems and we just touch the battery cables together and all is back to normal. This is the first H3 I have heard of doing this. Thanks Steve

Hummer dealer figures it out....this is a wierd one.

If something like this happens to you here is what you do.

Disconnect the negative and the positive on the battery. Then touch the cables together for 5 seconds and let them rest for 5 minutes. After the 5 minutes connect the positive and then the negative. Problem solved.

Have no idea what this does but supposedly if you disconnect the battery sooner than 15 minutes of shutting off the H3 off, then the "computer" doesn't have time to shut down properly. Just like your home computer if you just press the power button to shut it off. After 15 minutes the computer shuts down properly and there will be no problems then. However I disconnected the battery too soon and the computer didn't have time to shut down properly causingelectrical problems. Hopefully this will help someone along the line.

Default Drivers window and power locks inop on H3

I had this problem, along with others on my 2007 H3. I removed both battery cables, touched them together for about 5 seconds, charged the battery for 1 hour and cleaned the terminals and female connectors. After re-connection the drivers window worked and the power locks worked!

I have same issue but in addition to window my gauges will just drop/fail while I am driving. Fuel gage goes to empty, speed-o to zero and warning lights come on... Wonder if battery trick will work for all of these issues?

Thanks, mstgvic

Default Driver's window

Do you have the factory tow package? If you do, I would check the connector that goes to the lights.....It has been known to short against the body and cause all sorts of problems....
