Default dont tie knots

in your nylon tow straps!!

last week, stuk in snow, too far to reach i started to think of,how? i might get pulled if i couldnt dig out. i dug and practiced a few more times.
but if you never got stuk because you're scared to try!, heres how to tie a mess of nylon together so your jeep buddy can pull you out!

this "not" will "knot" lock up.

this is probably old stuff to you off road guys!

I have to warn you guys though. I work with rope and straps all the time using booms and hydraulic winch systems. Every time you tie a knot in a strap or rope it reduces its capacity considerably. Almost in half I believe. Not saying dont do it but just letting you know. So you dont use something too small and stand near it. Splicing rope is usually best, loops for hooks, or splice a loop around both even is fastest and doubles up the rope strength.

If you Stillwater to tie knots use a bowline or for even better non locking a double bowline could be used, and when you untie you push the longer rope up towards the knot and it opens right up. Use bowline knot all the time lobster fishing and on the salmon farm. They will never slip due to strain either.
