I remember a while back there was a problem with the Onstar module draining batteries. The fuse for that is on the positive battery cable I think. You stated that you had already replaced the battery.

Normal drain,I read here and checked,is 110 ma.
If you monitor the current with an ammeter you can pull fuses till you find the bad circuit.
Yours is probably a few amps or more.
Volts after starting go up to 15 then drop to appx 14 if the charger is working. that could be a problem.

How long have you owned it? Since new? IF not there may be some kind of aftermarket electronic device sucking power because it was improperly installed to a constant power source.

Do you have an aftermarket alarm or remote starter? If so, REMOVE IT and I bet your battery drain will go away.

If not, then follow the trail by turning off everything, pop the hood, grab a multi meter and wait for about 5 minutes. Then start testing each fuse to see what is still on.

No aftermarket stuff installed. I have heard about the onstar problem. We are gonna try the multimeter when we get back. Thanks for the suggestions guy. Its a ver frustrating problem. It will kill the Yellow top Optima in Just a few hours. So its got to be a big draw.

Hey, did you check the battery cables? Mine was doing that and even had to pay a cab for a boost once because it was wiggling loose somehow. I heard there is an issue with the cables or clamp and i had a no start episode and i wiggled the clamp and it spun about a quarter turn and tightened up and bingo haven't had a.problem since. So unhooked it and turn it a quarter or half turn and tighten up. May find that works if you are really lucky.
