Default CTIS lower air alarm - disconnect

Can the CTIS alarm be disabled by pulling a fuse? CTIS is working fine, but I believe the sensor has gone bad because I am getting the low pressure alarm despite good tire pressure.

Hummer Fuse Chart for Trucks up to 2003

here is a fude box layout. I think fuse "1G" is the one that will get rid of the chime. Not sure though. It may also take out your CTIS. again, not positive.

Default Ctis alarm

Yes it's possible,we use to have to disable it for customers that would not be able to afford the repairs.

That alarm was driving me crazy. I have a problem with my CTIS pump and the rear tires kept going flat. I disconnected the CTIS at each tire this caused the low tire pressure alarm to go off. I located the alarm on my 2000 H1 right above the break pedal. All I had to do was to disconnect it and no more beeping.

Hello,

This is probably a dumb question, but do you have to disconnect the CTIS before you can manually air up your tires?

You can just disconnect the CTIS alarm buzzer which is located under the dash beneath the black plastic kick panel. To find the buzzer .... follow the noise.

With both tires of a wheel set (front or rear) connected via engaging their CTIS valves, the air will equalize between the set. Think of the air pressure in the tires being connected by a rigid hollow tube. So, when you add air to one tire using the air chuck on that CTIS valve, you are really filling both tires.
