Crazy Electrical Problems
How's it goin yall!
I've had my 2006 H3 for about 6 months now, and as of a few days ago, I've had some pretty wild electrical problems out of it. This may be kind of hard to follow but I'll try to explain it the best I can.
Pretty much whats goin on right now is that the H3 dies when I turn my headlights on. When the headlights (or even the Daytime Running Lights) are on, the passlock light shows up on the instrument cluster, and I can't start it. When I turn the headlights OFF, all the dash lights come back on, but the "Brakes Failed", "Stab Sys" and "Brake Fluid Low" messages show up, but it WILL start with all of that goin on.
I just took it for a little cruise a few minutes ago, and it did fine. It idle'd really low when I stopped but I COULD drive it..
I'm really stumped on what it could be. I've thought maybe PCM, BCM, bad Fuel Pump.. not sure. If anyone has had a similar experience and fixed it let me know.

Sounds like you may have a wet BCM. Located behind the passenger kick panel.
The sunroof drains become plugged and the water drips on the BCM. Check the drains and see if you have moisture on your BCM.

Yeah, it definitely got wet. Think I can just take a hairdryer to it or will I have to completely replace it.
You can try to dry it and the connections, but more than likely, it won't put it back to normal.
No kidding..!
Since I bought my H3...
1. The blower relay under the dash caught on fire, I bought the parts and fixed it my self, not even a month later I got a letter that said GM may be considering this a recall item.
2. The check engine light is on and the H3 doesn't shift correctly, the ONLY way it could have gotten wet is from driving in the rain. The speedometer still works though so the "shop guys" can't figure out which wires going into the transmission are screwed. but it's not the input sensor because they switched it.
3. HOW THE HELL IS THERE NOT A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT about the DAMN PASS LOCK to be fixed/recalled..! But it's supposed to be freakin okay as long as I wait TEN minutes to try to restart it..? What THE HELL..? Good thing I'm not a doctor, or a Police Officer...
**** YOU GENERAL MOTORS, I'll never buy another G.M. Vehicle EVER.. I'm so damn pissed off right now..! EPIC FAIL G.M...!

The thing is I love my Hummer but I'm getting tired of pouring money into it
I feel your pain my 07 has been a money pit, never off-roaded washed 3-4 times a week garage kept. I have replaced radiator, wheel bearings transmission cooling lines, now stereo broke and my check engine light wont go out. I've changed O2 sensors, MAF sensor, plugs, checked intake for leaks and even changed battery terminals. It is insane, I don't think I will ever buy another GM product or a Dodge for that matter. I had a SuperDuty I think I will go that route never had a problem with it.

So, my uncle is gave me his Jeep Cherokee Chief, which he ordered and bought new in 1974 (It's a '75). It's an AMC... Chrysler 360 w/a 4 barrel, and a Ford 4 speed, it's a 2 door. And it still runs, and that's kinda bad *** to me, it's all AMC factory equipment. Of course I'll update the intake, heads, cam, and add a fuel injection system. I'm not doing anything insane, just updated tuning and suspension, it's even got disk brakes on the front.
As for the H3, I'm removing the entire drivetrain, and electrical system and going with a 350 and overdrive transmission.
I'll be giving it to my daughter when she leaves for college in a few years, after I've made it a reliable vehicle.
