Just got my brand new 08 H3 Alpha one month ago. Since I'm not using it as a daily commuter and too busy to enjoy it recently, only 800 miles are on the Alpha now, never off-road.

Today my wife found the truck is smoking after around 5 miles driving, and a lot of pink fluid dropped from the hood. We went to the dealer ASAP. The dealer said it was a serious coolant leaking. I'm surprised. I had more than 60k miles on my old Ford focus and never have any problem, even I have been driving it across the AZ and NM in July, fully loaded. I don't know whether the Alpha's engine has been damaged. Now I have some idea why GM is filing Chapter 11.

 

While it is disappointing, don't let it bring you to a bad opinion of your H3. I've been wheeling my H3 since I got it over two years ago, and having a heck of a time with it. It's not done anything to disappoint me, and best of all, after 37K miles, it is still squeak free; that alone is priceless to me. This is the most solid vehicle that I have owned. I would think that once you have this problem taken care of, that should be the end of your concerns.

 

shale your right i would be pissed too imo it's not an econobox they get serious coin for these they should be perfect imo, sounds like the workforce isn't paid enough and we know that's not true. who else could make that kind of money standing around bolting stuff on lol
