Thanks for the welcome and all the info. I have not yet driven one, sat in one, or heck... even touched one. I'm quite the Hummer virgin. I have seen one guy with an H1 but most people in this area are lucky to just have something that runs. I will definately need a test drive to help get me going. I was just cruising today in my Powerstroke thinking how tough it's going to be to find a better vehicle. It's one sweet ride but I really think the H2 is worth a try. Any real problems with the first year 2003 models? I'd go for an '04 also, but the '03 selection seems much larger. Since there are so many Chevy parts, canthe H2be repaired fairly cheap instead of buying Hummer parts?

you sell argo's ......... do you want to be my friend lol welcome to the site
also do you have any good video of argo's you could share with us
You might have to take a number. With a Hummer and a trailer of Argos by my shop, I could be over run with "friends". Haha... I don't have a whole lot of videos but I do have hundreds of pictures on my website. You can find the link in my profile.
My current tow rig with Max 6x6s:

Nice rig you got there!!!

I've had ZERO problems with my -03 and of course it has never been in the shop for anything above and beyond regular maintenance and a few installs :-) As far as repairs goes this will more than likely be something left up to the dealers discression to quite an extent. I know mine is not bad in pricing at all and there are lots of aftermarket parts out there to use too. And you are correct, it's GM parts you are looking at.

Buying used may be an option but keep in mind you're buying someone elses problems too ...
That's an awesome quote for buying used, have 2 keep that in mind.
Wish I could claim that one as my own but it's not :-) It is however quite true though. I'd be hesitant to buy a use H2 unless it had a pretty good history with the dealer/service shop. AND I'd like to see it before I bought it. I would have zero issues buying a used -03 with 45-50K on it if they were all highway miles. I would however have an issue with a lower mileage H2 that has been offroaded a lot ... just my .02 worth!

i don't know anything about towing and the H2, but i do know that the "grin factor" of having an H2 is huge, and that alone is worth the price.

i tow a 6k lb camper with the H2, stock everything except for some beefier tie rods and shocks, and 37" tires. it's not going to break any speed records, but it made the Baker grade on the way to Vegas just fine. i've got an extra tranny cooler, and some day i'll get off my *** and install it, but so far i haven't had any problems towing, aside from getting crappier mileage than normal. it does have a lot of GM parts, so if that worries you, you should stick with the ford. otherwise, i'd say at least go take one for a test drive and see how you like it.
