I just noticed today that the compass always reads "S" or "SE" no matter what direction I'm driving in. I figure its broken. Is there a way to fix this with-out replacing the whole mirror. I have the mirror with the back-up camera in it. Its really not a big deal but I do use it when I'm not sure where I am when traveling. I have 2 years left on the warrenty, if the whole mirror needs to be changed out I'll put it on the list when I need to go in for some other work some time.

 

my compass just died. I'm thinking its the LEDs as we had a long summer. it was a slow death in 100 degree heat. So far no answers here .

 

Mine never worked .. I read somewhere something about pressing for a few sec then drive in circles ... didnt work for me

 

From the owners manual. Try that.


Compass Operation
Press the compass/temperature button once briefly to
turn the compass on or off.
Compass Calibration
The compass may need calibration if the following
occurs:
• The compass does not display the correct heading
and the compass zone variance is set correctly.
In order to calibrate, CAL must be displayed in the
mirror compass windows. If CAL is not displayed, push
in the compass/temperature button for approximately
eight seconds or until CAL is displayed.
The compass can be calibrated by driving the vehicle in
circles at 5 mph (8 km/h) or less until the display
reads a direction.

 

Well at first Lojack's advice didnt do nothing. On my way home from work, it popped back on. Although now reading in Celsius Ok by me. Thanks Lojack!
