Colorado
Hey Drainbamaged,
I am out in Cheyenne WY. I just moved here but I would possibly be interested in going 4x4'n with you. I am active duty Air Force and my schedule is a little strange but we could work something out.

Thanks guys I just made it to Colorado yesterday. It was a good drive 25hrs 1900 miles. The only part that wasn't fun was the crosswinds in western Kansas. I thought i was going to get blown off the road a few times but i just drafted a few 18 wheelers and peaked at 15mpg with cruise on
. Simian just shoot me a pm and i we can arrange something. I have every Friday, sat, and sunday off.

Glad you made it safe. You aren't kidding about those crosswinds man. I drove through Kansas with my Scion xB last year when we took a road trip which was late July/Early August, and man, I thought we were toast a few times. You think the H3 was bad, just imagine driving a giant box down the road
You wanna talk about driving a giant box? Try a 53'x 13'6" box! (semi trailer)
What I would do when I was driving across Kansas or Nebraska, or some other big flat state is set the criuse, climb in the back and take a nap. If you run off the road, what are you going to hit? Wheat? Corn? Nothing happens!

the H2 is one comfortable box, though.
one more offroading tip/thought (sorry if this is totally obvious): lower your tire pressure to about 20-25 psi for any type of difficult terrain. Those pressure levels make a HUGE difference in traction, omre than all the lockers and computers in the state, and those pressures are safe to run. If you use lower pressures you risk the tire slipping off the rim or other more subtle problems unless you have some type of beadlock system to hold the tire in place.
when my rims and truck were stock, i would run at around 23-24 psi and never had any problems with tire slip, etc.
Outside of that, the stock tires are BFG AT tires, which are great in sand, loose dirt or gravely surfaces, smooth rocky or hard surfaces, grass, wet surfaces, and on the highway/streets. They aren't ever "bad", but they don't perform as well as true Mud tires in the slop. So don't get bummed if somebody out-muds you with the stock tires.

also, the H2 has an air compressor built in (at least mine does ?? ) to let you fill the tires back up to normal street pressures.
That is one really sweet addition that i think most other vehicles have to go aftermarket for.
The H1 lets you raise/lower pressure with a button from the cabin, which is simply freaking cool.
