I want to change my grill on my h3 to black instead of chrome, was wondering how many of you painted the stock one or ordered a prepainted unit? The cheapest I found the Hummer Accessory Black Grill was about $300 which is ALOT more than having the factory one painted. What did you guys do?

 

Most of what I have heard is that they paint them. I would do it that way, you need to remove it with either choice. Painting is easy.

 

I tried undercoating my original chrome grill, but didn't get it scuffed enough and the liner came off. So I just ordered the red one which is what I wanted in the first place. I just hated the chrome so bad that the black was a go between until i could fork out the 300 bucks. So, if you're having it painted, I would have it professionally done.
