CLUSTER LIGHT REPLACEMENT
Hello friends,
I noticed that I have some cluster lights blown.
I know that there a two types of cluster lights in the H2 depending on the manufacturer date.
Some clusters were made with regular removable incandescent lights and others with L.E.D.'s.
My H2 has the L.E.D. type.
The service book says if you have the L.E.D. type, I would have to take the cluster in for servicing.
I removed the cluster from the vehicle to try to service it myself with some L.E.D.'s I'll purchase from "RADIO SHACK".
But I need to separate the cluster form the plastic mounting base to get to the blown L.E.D.'s
I removed the cluster mounting screws to the mounting base but I can't back out the cluster from it's plastic mounting base because the indicator needles from the speedometer and odometer, etc. are attached and won't let the cluster separate from the base.
I don't want to force anything out since something might break or snap off.
Does anyone know how to separate the cluster from the plastic mounting base without breaking anything?
How do I remove the indicator needles or how can I bypass them?
Is there a special set-up or procedure to separate this type of L.E.D. cluster from the mounting base?
