Default clunking in front end, and hard turning

hello all, its my first post, i have read through some of the past post's on here and see hummers have had some clunking problems with the steering.. i dont think mine is in the steering. it is more in the front suspension i think, as it clunks pretty hard sometimes when i take off from a rolling start. and also the thing will hardly make sharp turns?? really makes noise when i try to back up and turn sharp at the same time? any suggestions.. by the way its an 06 with 63000 miles.... thanks for any help

Double check to make sure you are not in HI LOCK. The buttons can sometimes get stuck. If that's not it, the plastic shift fork may be broken. Do a search and there are a lot of threads on what it could be.

You might have a failing CV joint from your description. Check the boots to see if grease is slinging out.
If it's not that could be distorted pass side steering rack bushing. That could clunk and let the rack end move and cause steering problems as the tie rods move around.
