When I shift from park to reverse there is a clunk you can feel and hear. When I shift from park to drive everything is normal. What could be causing the clunk? Is it the U Joints? Transfer case? Anything else? Thanks in advance.

 

It's funny you mentioned that. Mine has been doing that since i bought it used. It's been 3 years now but hasn't bothered me. I'm pretty sure it's not normal though. I'd like to know as well.

 

I went to the dealer today and they said that my U Joints were fine, they just had some play in them from age. But since they were original U Joints, I had them replaced. Now everything is nice and strong, and the best part is no more clunk when its put in reverse. It was definitely worth replacing the U Joints, my H2 is just like new!

 

How much did it cost to get it changed?

 

I have that same thing happen too. Curious to know the cost to fix. Do you have your repairs done through the dealership?

 

Yes, I always use my HUMMER dealer for everything on my H2. The cost was $405 to replace my U Joints. My HUMMER dealer is awesome about fixing anything the first time I take it to them.
