Default Chrome tow hook bolts

Simple question here. Anyone have a line on just replacing the tow hook bolts and nuts with chrome ones?
Starting to get a little surface rust. So if I'm going to take them off anyway to paint, why not replace with better than original, chrome.
I'd rather not replace the hooks themselves, I don't like the look of them in Chrome so the sets on ebay are out.

thanks!

I think most would argue that chrome is "better" than stock.

Are you wanting to keep the black shackle and have just a chrome bolt??

Also if you actually use them they will begin to rust too, probably even quicker since about 90% of chrome accessories on the Internet are very cheaply chrome plated.

yes, I was planning to keep the hooks black and just add chrome bolts.
Also, that way I have time to possibly get the originals powdercoated and just swap them from time to time.
I'd think chrome would be easier to remove surface rust from than painted also.

Chrome...... in MI? Fist winter will have those looking like shiny bolts with rust.

You want rust free, go stainless.

GM recognized there was a problem with the tow hook bolts rusting and looking bad, so for the '09's they added plastic trim covers for the nut and bolt head. You can get them through the dealership.

You could try Hot Dipped or SS.

Does anyone know the dimensions on the bolt and nut?
