Chome plating

Default Chome plating

My front grille is peeling anf blistering or little bubbles and 1 little flaked off. what do i do to stop this/and repair what has come off.

Pull it off, sand/scuff the fake chrome....... then paint it body matching color. Have it LineXed, or paint it yourself with Dupli-Color Truck Bed Coating.

Chrome wont get you home, but neither will plasti-dip...

True but it is cheaper than getting something re-chromed, and all my chrome is still in excellent shape and in the mean time plastidip is a good way to protect from bug guts, scratches and it looks good for cheap. And I retain good resale value by being able to return it to stock in less than a day.

Remove blisters and flakes. Lightly scuff and sand. Repaint with chromee spray paint. Dont forget to tape and cover areas not needing paint.

I have been painting vehicles professionally for 15 years and I have yet to see a chrome spray paint that doesn't look cheap. It looks horrible and like you tried to save money. And you don't want to do that with your Hummer, or any vehicle for that matter. Do what Doc says.
