Default My Chome Hood Cover

Here's a pic. I have screws I put in to secure it tightly to the factory hood cover so it wouldn't fly off. They give you only that 3M adhesivedouble-sided foam tapethat isn't going to do any good after about a month:

The screws are drilled through the chrome cover and I used a countersink to make them semi-flush to the surface.

I think the reason I don't see anybody with these is either they fly off on people (which almost happened to me) or they just look gaudy.

I'm thinking about putting this back on but that would be it for the chrome.

Yep, screwing it in would be the ticket.

I had bought oneexactly like that(on eBay),what a nightmare it was, it was warped when I got it delivered (as in bowed in the middle), I finnaly got itmounted good and tightwith the 3M tape, or so I thought,,,,,,, it blew off at the car wash when Igot my H3 blow dryed,, I gota admit it was pretty funny,,,, I was pissed and laughing at the same time.
I then threw itin the garbageand bought the solid metal RealWheels one fromhttp://www.ecarboutique.com/h2hummer...ARTMENT_ID=324, drilled the holes in my hood, very easy to do, and I was good to go.
They also make the same one in a black powder coat (not pictured) and me thinks thats will I be buying the black one in the next week or two for my new H3 I just purchased.

Cheers

I remember us talking about that Davyo. When you got rid of your other H3, did you keep the vent or trade it in with the truck?

Hey HummerGuy

When I sold my last H3 I left the hood venton it and all the other upgrades I had done to the truck, but it kinda worked out as I got a killer deal on the H3 when I traded it in on the new Tacoma I purchased.

So Im starting from scratch with the new H3 with all the toys I will be buying for it.

On a side note,, I cant belive how happy I am to be back in a H3,,,, I had kinda forgoten how much fun they are to drive,,,,, blows away the Tacoma.
And before I got the new H3 I also test drove more than a few H2's as I was thinking about getting one,,, I know the H2'ers will hate me for saying this, but I really liked the H3 better.

Cheers
Davyo

Muddy; no, it's just the way the light is reflecting, or lack of

Davyo; I used to love the Tacoma. I wanted one for a long time, but that was years go. When I bought my Isuzu Rodeo way back when, I was looking at those also.

Glad to have you back

I just put it back on. I think I finally have the look I'm looking for. Not too much, not too little, and the wheels look nice now

Weather permitting, I'll wash it tomorrow and take some pics, but it's supposed to be balmly, crappy, nasty sleety windy wet weather.
