Default Charging issues for my 93 h1

I am on the hunt for a alternator wiring diagram for a 93 h1. We are having
a little bit of trouble trying to figure out what voltage it is supposed to be
charging at. I have tried big alternators from teaka toys, as well as regular
ones, and the regulators keep going, after not that long of use. If anyone
has a wiring diagram, or some suggestions, it would be appreciated.

Thanx Cameron

never been in an h1,(hint,hint!), but i know a little of 12v systems .i like a digital meter clipped on the batt.
in the morn it might read 12,4 v+/-. note that ,then turn on lites, it will drop, say to 12.1. now crank,if you can read it,it will drop a volt or 2. on start it should jump to 14 to 15 volts, not higher.

pull lites and it should dip and bounce back to 14/15.
if it dont jump up its not regulating.

it really should drop off some,13.8 is where a lot of radio gear is speced.
if it stays high,or higher than 15 its over charging. wires?.reg?. alt bad?.
why the reg goes bad? does the alt load it ?,or feed volts back into it??

the reg controls field volts which controls alt output volts to maintain batt.

the field dont need much, couple amps on heavy charge. u do need wiring which i dont have.

monitoring the field volts appx 6-12 v will tell how its TRYING to charge.'

if u unhook reg and put 12 v on field , the alt out should jump upto max v ,15+

final ,are u positive u are getting it all hooked up correctly??

im guessing that a reg goes bad BECAUSE of something else
