Did you check down in the hole? I know when I've pulled my console apart the clips always fall down there and I have to use a magnetic pick up to get the things out. You're clips may be sitting down there.

I am having the exact same issue with my 2005.

 

I used some 2 sided tape, worked great.

 

All good, my GM dealer fixed the clips for no charge :-)

Well the supposedly alarm expert guy how did the install crack some of the plastic holding the clips on the console and the driver ac vent so the easier way to get it fixed was the tape , I hope it hold for a couple years at least . then remove it and more tape

 

looking for 3 of those clips if you still have them avalable? Business put in remote starter in my H2 and apparently just ripped it off and the clips are gone, accept for 1 that I fished out with a magnet. Can't find them around here anywhere. I'd appreciate it if you could could get back to me - thanks!
